...Empowerment and Enlightenment of Womanhood
In order to make the poor/needy women of the society financially self-reliant, Yogi Mahila Kendra regularly and periodically organizes various workshops to train them in different professions so that they can earn and be helpful in maintaining their families well and, as a part of this program, it had organized a workshop for tailoring work on Wednesday, the 22nd February 2017 at Zoz village of Chhotaudepur Dist. in which 20 women and girls had received basic knowledge of sewing work in the presence of regional sadhvi sisters P. Suhasben and P. Sadbodhben from the institution.
The work of sewing is broadly divided into 2 parts, cutting (to cut the clothe as per measurement) and stitching/tailoring (to properly join and stitch the pieces). In today’s workshop, stitching i.e. tailoring was taught with practical demonstration.
In the workshop, P. Suhasben had explained different types of tailoring like straight, zigzag, double side/both side etc. and had also shown as to how to put the thread in the sewing machine and how to pass it through bobbin for double sewing.
The skills of the participating ladies was enhanced in such a way that, they could easily do the works like borders-folls on sarees, making of small & big bags and the covers for beds-quilts with the help of sewing machines at home and could thus create the source of their income also by doing job works for factories and other big famous tailors by getting ready/cut clothes from them from cities.
After the workshop, all the participating ladies had highly appreciated this effort by the sisters of Yogi Mahila Kendra to teach them such a valuable work and enhancing their skills to make them financially self-reliant and had thanked for the same.
