World Malaria Day - 2017, Dabhoi
On account of World Malaria Day, Yogi Mahila Kendra had organized a seminar in Ambicanagar Society, Dabhoi on Saturday, the 15th April 2017 to spread the awareness about malaria in the general public.
In this seminar, Meetaben Patel, working as a nurse in Dabhoi had guided around 65 ladies through a power point presentation about the cause for attack of malaria, its symptoms and the remedies to save from it. She explained that, it spreads due to virus called plasmodium and is caused by the bite by a female mosquito named anopheles. Its main symptom is fever with shivering and to control its spread, it is necessary to prevent the breeding by mosquito which in turn, stops the spread of its virus and thus, the disease too.
In addition, the various types of malaria and how they vary from each other was also explained with reference to their symptoms. As result of increased knowledge and information about it in the public nowadays and the awareness about cleanliness, the decrease in the death rate due to this disease has been reduced during the period from 2000 to 2015.
When the WHO has set a target of eradicate malaria by 2022, Yogi Mahila Kendra is also doing its best in the matter by bringing awareness in the public in this regard.
The sadhvi sisters P. Smitben, P. Sukhchainben and P. Swikarben from Yogi Divine Society as well as Devilaben (Head nurse-Dabhoi), Nayanaben Tadvi (Mem. Mun. Corp., Dabhoi), Harshaben Patel (Mem. Mun. Corp., Dabhoi) also remained present in this program.
