Today, when the PM of India Sri Naredrabhai Modi himself has been popularizing the campaign of Women Empowering through “Beti bachao..... Beti padhao ....” movement, as a part of women empowering campaign, to spread the “Beti bachao.... Beti padhao.... “ movement, Yogi Mahila Kendra had organized a meeting for ladies in “Avsar”, Leuva Patidar Samaj Wadi, Surat in which, around 1700 ladies and girls from different parts of Surat had participated. In addition to the sadhvi sisters from Yogi Mahila Kendra, Smt. Darshiniben Kothiya (Pres. Women Front) and Smt. Ashviniben Thakur (the member of Beti Bachao.... Beti Padhao... movement) also remained present in this meeting to guide the women.

43 small girls present in this meeting were encouraged by giving them the notebooks, pens, pencils and packets of biscuits and, under the Beti bachao... Beti padhao .... movement, the ladies present here, who had only a single girl child to bring up like a son, were congratulated and honored by calling them on the stage and were requested to display the banners of “Beti Bachao.... Beti Padhao...”.

In the beginning of the meeting, while addressing the ladies, Smt. Ashviniben Thakur (the active volunteer of Beti Bachao... Beti Padhao... movement) advised them not to differentiate among a girl child and a boy child and to rejoice the birth of a daughter also to bring up the birth rate of girls.

Speaking next, Smt. Darshiniben Kothiya (Pres. Women front) informed about various facilities/helps provided for girls by the Guj. Govt. like their free education right up to college through various schemes and full assistance for their marriages under schemes like “Kunvarbainu Mameru” etc.
