Beti Bachao Beti Padhao - 2016, Koli Bharthana
As a part of its Women Empowering Campaign, Yogi Mahila Kendra had, on Monday, the 26th December 2016 widely canvassed in the society, the “Beti Bachao.... Beti Padhao .....” scheme and brought awareness about it by displaying posters of it in Koli Bharthana village of Kamrej Taluka in Surat Zilla through its lady volunteers and lady members in which around 150 ladies had participated.
In this program’s meeting held in the presence of Yogi Mahila Kendra’s regional sadhvi sisters P. Sadhuramben, P. Sukanben and P. Shraddhaben, P. Sadhuramben talked of unequal treatments given to daughters and sons and advised the participants to keep away from this by equally treating them while also advising them to make other ladies also coming in their contacts to properly understand the importance of girls.
Then, the institution’s lady volunteers Ranjanben and Gangaben had requested Jinalben (Sirpanch, Koli Bharthana) and Sangitaben (Dy. Sirpanch) and other leading lady personalities present there to show the posters of “Beti Bachao.... Beti Padhao....” to the participant ladies.
After this program, the institution’s lady volunteers had displayed these posters at different places in Koli Bharthana and had requested the general public there to stop abortions, stop differentiating among son and daughter and to adequately educate girls.
