While carrying out a cleanliness campaign in Ambedkarnagar area, around 50 ladies under the leadership of sadhvi sisters P. Sahajikben, P. Subodhben and the lady volunteers from Yogi Mahila Kendra had, on Wednesday, the 8th February 2017, also appealed the residents of that area to keep their surroundings clean and free of dust and rubbish.

With a view to spread and reach the message of Clean India Campaign, initiated by India’s P.M. Sri Narendrabhai Modi, to maximum of general public in the society and to bring awareness among them, Yogi Mahila Kendra regularly and periodically organizes cleanliness campaigns at different places and, as a part of it, around 50 ladies associated with the institution had cleaned the public roads of Ambedkar Nagar in Rajkot by removing from both the sides, the plastic pouches, dry filth-tree leaves and dirt etc.

Most of the people staying in Ambedkar Nagar are Dalits and due to lack of education, they don’t have required awareness about cleanliness and hence, along with the sadhvi sisters, the lady volunteers and girls from the institution also had joined in this campaign who visited the residents there, by going door to door and had taught them to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings by collecting and throwing their daily rubbish into the corp.’s van on daily basis.

Sri Ketanbhai and Sri Digvijaybhai, both working as sanitary inspectors with Rajkot Mun. Corp., also were present there who had highly appreciated this work of cleanliness by these ladies and their teaching the surrounding people also about the same said that, if we really contact general public personally like this, and teach them about cleanliness, the ‘Clean India Campaign’ can become a real success.
