...Empowerment and Enlightenment of Womanhood
As a part of Women Empowerment Campaign, Yogi Mahila Kendra had organized a workshop on 20th February 2017 at Kumbhani village of Chhotaudepur Dist. to make the women self-reliant by teaching them to make different utility items from bamboo in which, under the guidance of regional sadhvi sisters P. Suhasben, P. Sadbodhben and other lady volunteers from the institution they had learnt the art of preparing variety of useful utility items from bamboo.
Bamboo is one type of grass only which is hollow from inside and grows up to 20 to 50 feet in height and, because of its strong-ness, it is used as a support in construction work and by making strips of it which can be bent in any shapes and can also be knitted to prepare a number of artistic items of it like baskets etc. and this type of works are done by most of moving/wandering caste of people. There is a great demand in urban cities for artistic/decorative items like the table lamps, tripods etc. of bamboos because of their attractive looks while, for preparing these items require very small space and capital as against handsome reward/profit.
Keeping all the above facts before eyes, Yogi Mahila Kendra had organized a workshop to teach the ladies from poor families for preparing such items at Kumbhani village for which, they had also contacted ladies from the moving/wandering type of families and requested them to train these ladies for preparing such items which they also had readily and willingly agreed to after which, nearly 30 women from poor families were given practical training to prepare such items from bamboos.
With the assistance and cooperation from Yogi Mahila Kendra, the ladies, who had participated in the seminar, had got a start towards financial liberty and a bright future who all had, after the seminar, whole heartedly thanked the sadhvi sisters and the volunteers of the institution and praised their services.
