A seminar on “Healthy Diet & Yoga” was organized by Yogi Mahila Kendra, Sokhada, Vadodara in the presence of its Head P. Suhrad (P. Premben) in Atmiya Dham Complex at Manjalpur on Sunday, the 18th Dec 2016 in which, Vadodara City’s renowned lady doctors Dr. Komal Chouhan (Diet Expert) and Smt. Alpaben Purani (Yoga Instructor) had guided the participants, nearly 600 ladies, on these subjects.

In the beginning of the seminar, the lady volunteers had welcomed both the experts with bouquets then, Dr. Komalben Chouhan, a diet expert, working as an associate professor in Vododara’s famous Maharaja Sayajirao University, while speaking first on “Healthy Diet” (Nourishing Food) had furnished information on the basis of Food-Science and had guided all by starting with small/minute details from as to what one should eat and what not, how much and when and, also had advised to include in their daily diets, the items like sprouted beans, esculent vegetables, vegetables containing lines like the saragvo, raw salads and the fruits as available in different seasons while, she also advised to avoid taking junk and fast foods as they, though tasty for our tongue but, are harmful for our body/health. The water also is since very important for our body, she also described the benefit of it and discussed the disadvantages of taking insufficient water.

Speaking next, the manager of Niramay Yoga Institute, Alpaben Purani had explained the benefits of Yoga and Meditation and had furnished information about different asanas with the help of video presentation. Simultaneously, giving information about asanas like vajrasan, sinhasan, trikonasan etc., she also explained with practical demonstrations as to from which parts of our body our pran-element (vital air) passes at the time of different pranayams. She also explained in simple terms that, the health can be maintained by doing meditation along with different hastmudras due to the balancing of the 5 basic elements of our body and, also saw as to how to do the meditation with these madras.

At the end of the program, both these experts and P. Suhradben were honored by giving them the small baskets with fruits and vegetables nicely arranged in them. In this seminar, the participating ladies had learnt to keep/maintain good health for themselves as well as for their family members too, by simply making minor changes in their daily diets and, they all had, whole heartedly appreciated this quite a new experimental program and thanked Yogi Mahila Kendra for arranging it and had also requested to repeat such programs again and again.
