Prevention of Sunstroke - 2017, Kantipada
With the help of a Mobile Medical Van, Yogi Mahila Kendra provides all types of free medical services to the people of interior villages of Netrang-Dediapada Tal. of Narmada Dist.. Considering the unbearable heat of this summer, it had, on Wednesday, 19th April 2017, while distributing packets of Glucose and the water mixed with it to the people from Kantipada village free of cost, also distributed the pamphlets explaining how to save from sunstroke.
The villagers of Kantipada in interior Bharuch Dist. depend upon farm labour and selling of forest products for their livelihood for which, they have to keep roaming in forest areas during scorching heat even bear-footed at many a times. If people don’t take proper care during the presently prevailing heat-wave in Gujarat, they fall a victim to the sunstroke easily.
As such, Yogi Mahila Kendra had arranged this time to visit this area with a medical van and Dr. Chhayaben Vasava and had collected the local residents to give them the information like the reasons for an attack of sunstroke, its symptoms and the basic treatment for the same while also distributing the pamphlets containing detailed information about sunstroke to the educated people and had also given them all the water with glucose and, needy women and families with children were given the packets of glucose free of cost.
While highly praising this activity by Yogi Mahila Kendra, the village women said that they didn’t know till now that, the sunstroke can cause such disease so, now on, they will take the required care in the matter for themselves as well as for their children also and thanked the institution.
