...Empowerment and Enlightenment of Womanhood
The prime minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi has started a campaign for Clean India. The first C.M. of Gujarat, Smt. Anandiben Patel has also given the priority to health and cleanliness under the Clean Gujarat—Healthy Gujarat mission. With an aim and intention that the ladies also contribute their reasonable share in these works and develop a conscience about cleanliness in them, about 50 lady volunteers and the girls, under the leadership and the guidance from sadhvi sisters P. Sarveshwarben P. Saralben, P. Snehalben and P. Sanyamiben, organized and collectively carried out a Cleanliness Campaign, during the auspicious morning of the new year on Friday, the 1st January 2016, of cleaning the Navadi bank situated at Nanpura of Tapi river, the life line of Surat City.
When, the ladies, sisters and the daughters of highly educated and rich families had fully engaged themselves in cleaning the banks of the river with the brooms and the large baskets in their hands for carrying the refuse, even the flowing waters of the river Tapi, the mother of people, had stopped for a while to watch them. It looked as if, the ladies had decided to spread the message to all from the soil of Surat, to drive away the dirtiness, untouchability and the poverty from the soil of entire India, through this campaign of cleanliness. They had collected from the entire bank of that area the dirt, the tree leaves, the small plastic cover bags of betel nuts and the other plastic bags lying there and had totally cleaned the entire area by removing this refuse from there.
In this program of social service conducted by the institution, the prominent citizens from the local areas like Shri Purneshbhai Modi (MLA, and City BJP president), Shri Madansinhbhai Atodariya (City Min., BJP-Surat), Smt. Asmitaben Shiroya (Mayor, Surat City), Shri Shankarbhai Chevli (Dpty. Mayor, Surat City), Reshmaben Lapsiwala (Corporator), Jashuben Rathod (Corporator), Shri Anilbhai Biscuitwala, the president of Cleanliness Campaign and Ganeshotsav Samitee, Shri Navinbhai Kahar (Nanpura Ward) etc. had remained present and had highly and whole heartedly appreciated this work by the Institution.
