Cancer Awarness Drive - 2016, Simdhara
In order to increase and spread the awareness about cancer among the people and to encourage them to treat and eradicate the same, the 4th February has been observed as “World Cancer Day” every year in the entire world. Following this, Yogi Mahila Kendra, Haridham, Sokhada had organized on Friday, the 4th March 2016, a seminar at Simdhara Village of Zaghadiya Tal. to spread the awareness about cancer among the general public there. Around 25 ladies had participated in this seminar and collected knowledge about cancer.
With the help of a presentation prepared by Yogi Mahila Kendra, Komalben Vasava had provided to all the participants in this seminar, the detailed information as to how does the cancer attack, types of it, its symptoms, what steps to take after its attack and what precautions should be taken to prevent its attack.
Barring only a certain types of cancer, it has not remained an incurable disease now but, its earlier detection makes it easier to control it. Keeping this fact in mind, the information as to how the cancers related to breast and womb can be detected and prevented in their early stages was also given. Because not only the gents but, even the ladies also smoke in these areas of adivasi people, they were specially cautioned that, smoking also is causing cancer and were thus, warned against the habit of smoking.
Through this seminar, the local women here were awakened about the dangers, its symptoms and the steps to prevent the cancer and all of them had also vowed to inform and spread this information among all the other women in the society around them.
