Avidha village and its surrounding area in Bharuch Dist. inhabit mostly the adivasi and the backward people. In order that the uneducated ladies of these areas duly get their due place and status in their families and society, are well informed about their rights and the benefits/facilities available to them under the laws/rues from the Government and can live their life with self-discipline and atmiyata in their homes, families and the society with full development of their own-self/identity and progress, following the “World Women’s Day”, 8th March, Yogi Mahila Kendra, Haridham, Sokhada had organized on Tuesday, the 8th March 2016, a program of celebrating the World Women’s Day under their campaign of Women’s Upliftment at Avidha to guide them in which, around 60 girls and ladies had participated.
Speaking on this occasion, Smt. Pujaben A. Modi, an advocate by profession, had informed and guided the participants about their rights and woman protection laws. She had also informed about the injustice and the harassment being done to women by their families, like demand for dowries, beatings, not giving them their proper/equal rights etc. while also informing as to how to face/challenge/fight against all these and get government protection under such situations while also awakening them about their rights and for being educated and self-reliant and, by making a subtle suggestion to all, she asked them to be equal to men and to achieve own development/progress.
