World AIDS Day - 2016, Karjan
Yogi Mahila Kendra, Haridham, Sokhada had, on account of “World AIDS Day”, the 1st Dec, organized a seminar in a the Hall of Mahadev Temple situated in Juna Bazar at Karjan Saturday, the 17th Dec 2016 in the presence of institution’s sadhvi sisters P. Saurabhben, P. Sualabhben and P. Santoshben in which, around 130 ladies and girls from the surrounding areas had participated.
World Health Organization celebrates 1st December as the “World AIDS Day” in the entire world. Because Karjan and its surrounding areas fall in the center of Gujarat’s Industrial Zone, the people from all the provinces of India come to stay here. Due to lack of education and clean atmosphere here, the level of contagious diseases is found to be more here. Under the circumstances, if the ladies here are alerted and trained about their good health, they can also spread this knowledge and awareness among other women around them and with this view in mind, Yogi Mahila Kendra had organized this shibir.
Dr. Vipulbhai Bhardwaj informed ladies present in the shibir as to how do we get infected for H.I.V. and that, as a result of it, our power to fight against other diseases gradually goes on reducing resulting in our inability to fight against other diseases bringing death for us. After entering our body, the H.I.V. virus remains in a silent/sleeping position there for a period of 6 months to 6 to 12 years which is called the window period and it is the most dangerous period for the spread of AIDS as, even the patient, the infected person himself, can’t know that he is infected by AIDS and hence, he can also infect the other persons too and alerted to be cautious.
In 90 % of cases of AIDS, such a position comes due to an attack by the external virus the main reason for which, is understood to be unethical sexual relations and said that, it is hence, advisable and in our own interest only to follow the system of a single wife preached by our scriptures.
Speaking next, the regional sadhvi sister from Purushottam Pradesh P. Saurabhben advised all the ladies present there to live a self-controlled life because, as per the information given here, no 100 % treatment is available for AIDS and hence, she said, “alertness/precaution only is the best safety”.
Smt. Renukaben Patel (Pres., Karjan Mun.) who was present there suggested to all the participants to spread the information received from here to all the other ladies in their surroundings.
While welcoming and highly appreciating these efforts by Yogi Mahila Kendra, the participating ladies accepted that, till today, they never received such knowledge/information from anywhere due to which, many of them had been victims of AIDS and resolved to spread the same in the society for other ladies.
