Yogi Mahila Kendra, Haridham, Sokhada had, on account of “World AIDS Day”, the 1st Dec, organized a seminar in Atmiya Vidya Mandir, at Koli Bharthana, Tal. Kamrej on Monday, the 26th Dec 2016 between 3.00 pm & 4.00 pm to spread the information about AIDS among the ladies of this area in which, around 300 ladies from Koli Bharthana and its surrounding areas had participated where, the sadhvi sisters like P. Sadhuramben, P. Sukanben, P. Saumyaben, P. Shrijichintanben and the regional elderly lady Volunteers of Yogi Mahila Kendra remained present.

World Health Organization celebrates 1st December as the “World AIDS Day” in the entire world. Yogi Mahila Kendra had organized this seminar with an idea/intention that, if the ladies from Koli Bharthana and its surrounding areas are made aware about the contagious disease like AIDS, they can also alert a mass of other ladies coming in their contact the same way.

An effort was made by Yogi Mahila Kendra to develop an awareness about the fight against AIDS by ting a red colored ribbon with the sign/symbol of AIDS on the shoulder of every woman entering the hall.

Dr. Meetaben, who came from Orana, through a presentation informed ladies present in the shibir as to how do we get infected for H.I.V. and that, as a result of it, our power to fight against even other common diseases gradually goes on reducing resulting in our inability to fight against other diseases bringing death for us. After entering our body, the H.I.V. virus remains in a silent/sleeping position there for a period of 6 months to 6 to 12 years which is called the window/AIDS period. While giving such information about AIDS presenting the related figures and pictures, she also removed the misconception based on the scientific facts and provided real position in the matter before all the ladies.

While addressing in the end of the shibir, the sadhvi sister from Dharmabhakti Pradesh P. Sadhuramben said that, when the society becomes blind in the fascination of modernity, such diseases get open ground for their entry so, to curb their spread, as per the slogan, “Alertness only is the Safety” it becomes our prime duty to actively spread real knowledge about AIDS in the society and cooperate all to fight against and defeat the same when we have known about its deadliness.
